On behalf of New Zealand Cricket thank you once again for the quality service offered by yourself and your fellow groundsmen at the New Zealand Community Trust Girls' national finals' tournament held at Owen Delany Park in Taupo from December 15-18.
lt is a real pleasure to work with you and be able to provide the competing teams with such excellent facilities, pitches and neatly mowed and marked outfields.
The picturesque setting of Owen Delany Park with its different tiers and surrounding trees makes for a wonderful venue to host this prestigious school development cricket tournament. The eight final schools travelled from all over New Zealand to contest the tournament and were privileged to play at the park with its first class playing conditions.
This was the first time that we have staged the girls' tournament in Taupo. As with the junior boys' tournament there were many favorable comments made by coaches, players and supporting parents about how fortunate the girls were to be able to play at such a venue and how friendly, helpful and enthusiastic you and your groundsmen were in ensuring the success of the tournament. Many of the coaches asked if the tournament would be held in Taupo again next year as they were very keen to return.
